Đại Úy Elizabeth Phạm sinh ra tại Seattle, hai năm sau khi cha mẹ cô đến định cư tại thành phố này, sau khi miền Nam mất vào tay Cộng Sản. Cô là ái nữ của Bác Sĩ Phạm Văn Minh hiện có phòng mạch tại Seattle tiểu bang Washington. Liz Phạm tốt nghiệp từ Đại Học USD (University of San Diego) và theo học về kỹ thuật bay tại trường huấn luyện phi hành T 34 của Hải Quân Hoa Kỳ tại Pensacola (Florida) với cấp bậc Thiếu Úy. Sau đó, cô tiếp tục theo học về kỹ thuật bay cấp cao T 45 Goshawk tại trung tâm huấn luyện Meridian của Hải Quân Hoa Kỳ tại tiểu bang Mississippi.
Cuối năm 2003, Trung úy Elizabeth Phạm đã tốt nghiệp "Top Hook" (Thủ Khoa) và được Đại Tướng Chỉ Huy Trưởng đích thân trao bằng tốt nghiệp, và được tuyển chọn là Phi Công đầu tiên của Quân Chủng TQLC Hoa Kỳ điều khiển một phóng pháo cơ siêu thanh F 18 Hornet (trị giá 67 triệu dô la). Liz Phạm được thăng Đại Úy từ năm 2005.
Cô thành hôn với Đại Úy Alexander Roloss cũng là một sĩ quan Phi Công F 18 và hai vợ chồng cùng ở chung một đơn vị. Cả hai vợ chồng đều đến tham dự Đại Nhạc Hội "Cám Ơn Anh.. " vào ngày 3 tháng 8 tới đây tại Sân Vận Động Bolsa Grande High School.

F/A-18 Hornet Fighter
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 is a multirole fighter designed for aircraft carrier duty. The U.S. Marines ordered it as an F-18 fighter and the Navy as an A-18 attack aircraft. It can switch roles easily and can also be adapted for photoreconnaissance and electronic countermeasure missions.
The resilient F/A-18 Hornet was the first aircraft to have carbon fiber wings and the first tactical jet fighter to use digital fly-by-wire flight controls. Variants included a two-seater, an improved fighter, a reconnaissance aircraft and a night-attack fighter.
Since the first Hornet entered service in 1980, McDonnell Douglas built over 1,200. Overseas, Hornets served with the Australian, Canadian, Spanish, Kuwaiti, Swiss, Finnish and Malaysian air forces. In November 1986, the 40th anniversary of the Navy's Blue Angels, the demonstration squadron replaced its A-4 Skyhawks with F/A-18 Hornets. They saw use as a show aircraft the following season.
Hornets entered active duty in January 1983. In 1986, Hornets on the USS Coral Sea flew their first combat missions. During the 1991 Persian Gulf War, while performing an air-to-ground mission, Hornets destroyed two Iraqi MiG-21s in air-to-air combat.
The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet made its first flight in November 1995. This advanced version offered greater range and payload-carrying ability, more powerful engines, an improved cockpit, and increased mission radius, endurance and survivability.

Military News Live-Fire Missile Exercises Keep Marines Sharp Sun, 23 Sep '07 Training Conducted Off Mexican Coast Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 242 trained along with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 323 while conducting live-missile training exercises September 10–14. The squadrons launched approximately 28 live missiles at decoys jettisoned into the skies over a training area off the coast of Mexico.
The training is important for the pilots because during simulated exercises, pilots pull the trigger with no actual missile that’s released, according to Major Robert George, the operations officer of VMFA(AW)-242, “The Bats.” Live-missile training gives pilots the opportunity to see and feel how the aircraft’s weapons system operates with live ammunition. Through this training, pilots also gain a better understanding and appreciation for the capabilities of their aircraft’s weapons systems. For many of the pilots with the Bats, this exercise provides them with a first time experience with releasing live-missiles from an aircraft. “It’s my first time shooting a live missile.
It was really neat to see the product of what you practice,” said Capt. Elizabeth Pham, a pilot with the Bats.
During the four-day training evolution, the two squadrons alternated roles. One squadron would deploy the decoys while the other practiced firing the missiles at the decoys. The pilots aren’t the only ones who benefit from training with live missiles.
The ordnance Marines get great training during this mission and play a big role in loading, testing and handling the missiles as well as troubleshooting components of the weapons systems, according to George. The ordnance Marines primary responsibility is to maintain the weapons systems for the entire aircraft and repair components as needed, explained Master Sgt. Victor Colombo, the ordnance chief with the Bats. During the training, the squadrons employed three types of air intercept missiles. AIM-7 Sparrow is a radar-guided air-to-air missile. AIM-9 Sidewinder is a heat-seeking air-to-air missile. AIM-120 Advanced Medium Air-to-Air Missile is a radar-guided missile with radio frequency target detection. Ok, Let me tell you the story about the creation of this website. Well, I was watching a video the other day and it was about a pilot name Elizabeth Pham.
She is a lady who has done something that was really impressive. She was a U.S pilot that flew a 35 million dollars airplane into battle.
To make the story short, her airplane was shot numerous times and she able to make it alive. I don’t know why, but her story inspire me to set up this website.
Maybe I have always wanted to write a book about a the great things that women were able to do.
Today is Sunday, May 11, 2008, I always want to use this website as a gift to my mom for mother’s day. She doesn’t knows about it, but “Happy Mother’s Day Mom”.
Anyway the purpose of this website is to honor all the women of our history (there are many of them out there). I will find more stories about all the great things that woman have done in the near future and place it on this site.
